Hops & Barley - a Beer & Whisky tasting event with Spirit of Yorkshire

Celelbrating the launch of the limited edition Filey Bay Porter Cask Single Malt Whisky by Spirit of Yorkshire, The Spirit Specialist is proud to partner with The Hop Cavern for an informal tasting event exploring the interplay between beer and whisky when resting in cask.

Using Filey Bay Flagship as a baseline, we will then look at how Scarborough Fair IPA influences the barrels that matured the original whisky to then produce Filey Bay IPA Finish - and also look at how the barrel influenced the beer in turn, which was subsequently bottled as 'Barrel Wave IPA'.

Following a short break to enjoy some gourmet crisp butties, we will then go through the same routine again, this time looking at Wold Top Marmalade Porter working with Flagship barrels, resulting in Filey Bay Porter Finish and Rip Curl Barrel Finished Porter.

Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase bottles on the night.

This will be a fascinating exploration of the interplay between ale, whisky and wood in a relaxed environment, and is not to be missed!
