    The Barton 1792 Distillery sits in a whopping 192 acre estate, owned by American drinks giant Sazerac. It produces a number of whiskey brands but the distinctive 1792 bottling - previously known as Ridgemont Estate - is a standout. Named after the year Kentucky joined the United States, 1792 whiskies are known for big, bold flavours featuring plenty of fruit and spice notes.

    This Full Proof bottling is a single barrel pick by Marcia Wells, owner of the 1st Avenue Liquor Store in St. Petersburg, Florida, assisted by a small number of her customers known as the '1st Avenue Bourbon Crew', who joined her on a tour of Kentucky distilleries in early 2025. Their barrel picks are consistently superb, and this bottling highlights their skill in picking liquid that highlight the very best a brand can offer. There's notes of brown sugar, salted toffee, cracked peppercorns, soft oaky smoke, vanilla cream - just bloody loads going on. It's a whiskey to be taken time on, to ponder and to cogitate over.

    Shipping rates are based on WEIGHT of goods - the total weight of your order will determine the cost of the shipping charge due to price banding imposed by Royal Mail. Orders weighing up to a max of 2kg will be charged £5.99, and orders weighing over 2kg will be charged £7.99. ANY PURCHASE OVER £150 WILL RECEIVE FREE SHIPPING.

    PLEASE NOTE: The Spirit Specialist is CLOSED on Sundays and Mondays - all orders are collected by Royal Mail the day after they are packaged up. As such, if you place an order on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday, your order will be packaged up on the following Tuesday at re-opening, and then collected by Royal Mail on the Wednesday morning.
