Although this is produced at the Buffalo Trade Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, Ancient Age is a brand owned by Age International, a comany itself ownd by Japanese business Takara Shuzo, who also owned the Tomatin Distillery until a couple of years ago. Age International also own the Blanton's brand - so although many people associate Blanton's with Buffalo Trace - indeed, it was named after a previous BT Master Distiller - legally Blanton's is NOT a BT product. As much as they would love it to be!
So, with Ancient Age we have a high-rye mashbill produced at Buffalo Trace and aged for the not-so-ancient length of about 3 years. It's very much an 'introductory' Bourbon - light, sweet, slightly spicy, VERY easy to drink. It's maybe a little to light on the mouthfeel to work in an Old Fashioned and will get murdered in a Manhattan, but just as a sipper on its own it works very well.
Ancient Age isn't officially distributed in the UK - I was very lucky to get my hands on a case through a supplier who picked some stock up via travel retail, so this is agreat opportunity to try something you won't normally find on these shores!

Shipping rates are based on WEIGHT of goods - the total weight of your order will determine the cost of the shipping charge due to price banding imposed by Royal Mail. Orders weighing up to a max of 2kg will be charged £5.99, and orders weighing over 2kg will be charged £7.99. ANY PURCHASE OVER £150 WILL RECEIVE FREE SHIPPING.
PLEASE NOTE: The Spirit Specialist is CLOSED on Sundays and Mondays - all orders are collected by Royal Mail the day after they are packaged up. As such, if you place an order on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday, your order will be packaged up on the following Tuesday at re-opening, and then collected by Royal Mail on the Wednesday morning. PLEASE BEAR THIS IN MIND IF YOU ARE WORKING TO A DEADLINE!

All orders are sent on a Tracked service with Royal Mail, which provides a Tracking Number for you to follow its journey to your destination.

All products are securely packaged in Air-Shock bottle bags or frankly excessive amounts of bubble wrap for additional protection.
All goods must be examined at the time of delivery and any damages or shortage must be recorded on the relevant delivery acceptance forms with the delivery. Un-examined or un-checked goods that result in a subsequent claim outside of a 48 hour period will not be accepted. Queries relating to claims must be made within 48 hours of receiving the goods, otherwise claims cannot be guaranteed.
