    Dating back to 1796 - when distiller Basil Hayden added rye to what was at the time traditionally 100% corn mashbills - the brand is part of Beam Suntory's 'Small Batch' selection of Broubon whiskies. Known to be one of the sweeter whiskies in the Beam portfolio, the brand has begun to introduce more variants to the market, including this intriguing Red Wine Cask Finish, blending the 'standard' Basil Hayden whiskey with Bourbon that had been finished in Californian red wine barrels - although it's not be disclosed WHAT wines were in there originally.

    That softer nature of BH works wonderfully with the red berry notes of a red wine casks - although admittedly the nose promises slightly more than the palate delivers. There's a touch of oaky tannin but the overwhelming flavour is concentrated Eton Mess - vanilla, meringue and squished raspberries. There's a kick of black pepper on the finish which stops it from becoming too sweet, and overall this is a dangerously drinkable dram!

    Next Day Delivery uses DHL services, a tracking number will also be supplied to allow you to follow its journey.

    All products are securely packaged in Air-Shock bottle bags or excessive amount of bubble wrap for additional protection.

    All goods must be examined at the time of delivery and any damages or shortage must be recorded on the relevant delivery acceptance forms with the delivery. Un-examined or un-checked goods that result in a subsequent claim outside of a 48 hour period will not be accepted. Queries relating to claims must be made within 48 hours of receiving the goods, otherwise claims cannot be guaranteed.

    RETURNS / EXCHANGES POLICY

    The Spirit Specialist offers EXCHANGES ONLY on unwanted items to an equal amount. Refunds will not be given, cash differences in favour of the purchaser in the case of an exchange will also not be provided.
