    Founded in 2019 by Harvey Thomas and long-time school friend Jack Shannon, Cape Cornwall is based at Bollowal Farm, just four miles North of Land's End. Harvey is the fifth generation of the Thomas family who have owned the farm since 1925 - and it was Harvey's great-great-grandfather who discovered bottles of alcohol were hidden within the walls of the farm buildings. Legend told of smugglers avoiding taxes by bringing bottles into the cape via boat, hiding them in a farm building known as 'The Wink'.

    In an effort to diversify the farm operations - they have a herd of red ruby Devon cattle - Harvey and Jack decided to produce a small scale rum operation, rectifying spirit from the Caribbean and diluting with Cornish water.

    The Spiced Rum features rums mainly from Barbados that have been infused with ingredients such as saffron, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg and sea salt. The end result is a rum that reminds me of a Crunchie bar with a little bit more oomph - almost as if the honeycomb and chocolate has been sprinkled with that same salt. It's a spiced rum on the sweeter end but there's enough of a bite from the salt and cinnamon to ensure it's not TOO sweet. It's a belter with cola, but also makes a fantastic Cable Car cocktail!

    Delivery charges:

    Shipping rates are based on WEIGHT of goods - the total weight of your order will determine the cost of the shipping charge due to price banding imposed by the carriers we use.

    Please note due to our opening times goods ordered on a Saturday may result in a delayed arrival. Goods ordered on a Sunday or Monday will be shipped from the store on the Tuesday immediately following - please bear this in mind if you have a deadline.

    48 Hour Delivery uses the Tracked 48 service from Royal Mail, which provides a Tracking Number for you to follow its journey to your destination.

    Next Day Delivery uses DHL services, a tracking number will also be supplied to allow you to follow its journey.

    Items are NOT insured as standard, please contact us if you would like to discuss additional insurance for premium products.

    All products are securely packaged in Air-Shock bottle bags or excessive amount of bubble wrap for additional protection.

    All goods must be examined at the time of delivery and any damages or shortage must be recorded on the relevant delivery acceptance forms with the delivery. Un-examined or un-checked goods that result in a subsequent claim outside of a 48 hour period will not be accepted. Queries relating to claims must be made within 48 hours of receiving the goods, otherwise claims cannot be guaranteed.

    RETURNS / EXCHANGES POLICY

    The Spirit Specialist offers EXCHANGES ONLY on unwanted items to an equal amount. Refunds will not be given, cash differences in favour of the purchaser in the case of an exchange will also not be provided.
