Delamain 1972 35yo Grande Champagne Cognac 40% 70cl
Dating back to 1759, Delamain are one of the oldest Cognac houses and one of the last to still be family-owned. Working as a 'negociant', Delamain select Cognacs from individual producers before blending and maturing in their own cellars. Their focus is on aged spirits, and as such do not release the younger VS or VSOP bottlings. Unusually, they release at 40% ABV but do not dilute spirit with water, instead using very old, low-strength brandies to bring the alcohol level down whilst still maintaining a complexity and depth of flavour.
This 1972 vintage was bottled at the age of 35 years old in 2007. It is being sold on behalf of a friend of The Spirit Specialist who previously worked for Metzendorff, the UK distributors for Delamain, and this bottle was sourced directly from their own cellars. The bottle is fully sealed and intact and the fill level is high. The condition of both bottle and presentation is excellent, it is clear this has been carefully looked after. If you have any questions about this bottle or would like to see more pictures please get in touch!
