Launched in July 2019, Dos Hombres is the creation of actors Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston, who are best known for playing the iconic characters Jesse Pinkman and Walter White in the classic TV series Breaking Bad.

Aaron and Bryan are very close friends and at the completion of the show the pair were looking for a new venture to work together on. Aaron already had a deep love of Mezcal in particular and so encouraged Bryan to come on board to bring a new product to the market. After spending a couple of years tasting and researching producers and spirits, they eventually settled on sourcing the spirit from a small producer in the village of San Luis del Rio in Oaxaca. Espadin agave in roasted in underground earth pits before being crushed with a 'tahona' stone - a very traditional method of crushing the agave - before open-air fermentation takes place. The Mezcal is 'Joven' aka 'young' and so is completely unaged.

There's are plenty of 'celebrity' brands out there and a large proportion simply run of the name of the star without actually providing much joy themselves. However, there are one or two celebrity brands where clearly care and attention has been involved - think Dan Aykroyd and Crystal Head, George Clooney and Casamigos, Ryan Reynolds and Aviation Gin. And Dos Hombres is up there as one of the best celebrity spirits out there. The smoky element is upfront but crisp and clean, and there's a delicious fruitiness that is almost mouthwatering, with distinct hints of tropical fruit and also tangy red berries. It's a superb sipping spirit that will also work brilliantly in cocktails - that fruity note will partner a good Triple Sec in a Margarita, just hold back the lime element a tad!
