Rozelieures is small village in Lorraine at the foot of an ancient volcano (referenced in the logo), with a population of only 200 people. It accounts for 20% of all the malting barley grown in France, and some is also exported to Scotland. The Grallet-Dupic farm distillery has been operational for over 150 years – records show Amable Grallet and wife Ophelie founding it in 1860. As phylloxera decimated vines, his son Michel planted mirabelle plum trees to distil.
5th generation Sabine’s husband Christophe Dupic had a keen interest in whisky – along with father-in-law Hubert – and following a visit to Scotland in 2002 realised they had everything needed to make whisky, and so started to do so.
They were the first distillery in France to use peated barley. Five storehouses are used for maturation, one of them a disused military fort dating back to the 1870s. The 6th generation of Grallet/Dupic are now moving into ownership
The venture is a true field to glass operation with everything taking place in Lorraine. A large proporation of casks are made with wood from 2 nearby forest and they completed construction of their own malting house in 2017.
The first release from Rozelieures - Origine - was launched in 2007. Aged in first-fill Sherry barrels, a very small amount of peated barley is used to produce a phenol level of around 8ppm. There's no age statement but we are looking at an average of 6 years old.

Shipping rates are based on WEIGHT of goods - the total weight of your order will determine the cost of the shipping charge due to price banding imposed by Royal Mail. Orders weighing up to a max of 2kg will be charged £5.99, and orders weighing over 2kg will be charged £7.99. ANY PURCHASE OVER £150 WILL RECEIVE FREE SHIPPING.
PLEASE NOTE: The Spirit Specialist is CLOSED on Sundays and Mondays - all orders are collected by Royal Mail the day after they are packaged up. As such, if you place an order on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday, your order will be packaged up on the following Tuesday at re-opening, and then collected by Royal Mail on the Wednesday morning. PLEASE BEAR THIS IN MIND IF YOU ARE WORKING TO A DEADLINE!

All orders are sent on a Tracked service with Royal Mail, which provides a Tracking Number for you to follow its journey to your destination.

All products are securely packaged in Air-Shock bottle bags or frankly excessive amounts of bubble wrap for additional protection.
All goods must be examined at the time of delivery and any damages or shortage must be recorded on the relevant delivery acceptance forms with the delivery. Un-examined or un-checked goods that result in a subsequent claim outside of a 48 hour period will not be accepted. Queries relating to claims must be made within 48 hours of receiving the goods, otherwise claims cannot be guaranteed.
