I AM RELIABLY INFORMED THAT THERE ARE ANOTHER 2 SINGLE CASK SPEYMALT BOTTLINGS DUE OVER THE NEXT FEW MONTHS. AS SUCH THE SINGLE BOTTLE I HAVE IN STOCK WILL BE PUT TOWARDS A TASTING EVENT WITH THE FULL SELECTION ONCE THEY ARE RELEASED, WHICH WILL ALSO INCLUDE THE CASK #1178 & #13603601 RELEASES THAT WERE AVAILABLE EARLIER THIS YEAR.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE PART OF THIS TASTING PLEASE GET IN TOUCH AND I WILL ADD YOU TO THE LIST OF INTERESTED PARTIES.

'Speymalt' is the brand name of any Macallan that has been released from independent maturers Gordon & MacPhail. Based in Elgin, G&M purchase new make spirit direct from distilleries and mature in their own selection of casks, thanks to over 100 years of relationships built up with distilleries, wineries and bodegas.

Impeccable care and attention is taken to ensure the whisky is of the highest quality, and on a regular occasion you can find some absolute bargains compared to 'official' releases, due to the fact they are often perceived as 'inferior' releases due to the lack of any official branding. As it happens, the liquid is often way better than mainstream bottlings, and G&M price their releases at a level which encourages drinking and enjoying rather than setting aside to make money.

This is a 20yo Macallan matured in a single first-fill Sherry cask with an outturn of only 242 bottles.

It's yet more evidence that G&M are masters of maturation, and arguably offer more depth and complexity to Macallan spirit that the actual distillery owners do...
