    Since opening as a grocery in Elgin in 1895, Gordon & MacPhail have built lasting relationships with Scotch whisky distilleries, Sherry bodegas, Bourbon producers and cooperages to produce some of the finest spirits thanks to maturing fully from the point of acquiring new make spirit. This legacy has enabled them to release some of the oldest whiskies ever bottled alongside a portfolio of some of the most complex spirits available to everyone.

    Here is a chance to discover their skill and expertise first hand, with a selection of whiskies that highlight the craft and care that goes into maturing whiskies for many years.

    Join The Spirit Specialist and G&M ambassador Luke Todd-Wood to taste a superb range of phenomenal whiskies, and learn about the history that lies behind every bottle.

    Tickets costs £75 and each purchase entitles you to a pack of 6 x 30ml measures to enjoy on the night, plus exclusive access to a private Zoom call on the evening of Friday 31st March in which Luke Todd-Wood will join us LIVE to give his backstory and answer any questions you may have.

    For those unable to make the event live in person, a recording of the stream will be uploaded to YouTube on a private link immediately after, meaning you can watch along at your leisure.

    The ticket price does not include postage of the sample pack to your door if this is required - please choose click-and-collect to pick up from our shop in Howden, East Yorkshire or select the postage options at checkout. Sample packs will be shipped out to ensure they arrive in good time for the event, however please be aware that delays by couriers outside our control may prevent the packs arriving to you in time, so we recommend purchasing packs for shipping by Saturday 25th March at the very latest.

  • Delivery & Returns

    Delivery charges:

    Shipping rates are based on WEIGHT of goods - the total weight of your order will determine the cost of the shipping charge due to price banding imposed by the carriers we use.

    Please note due to our opening times goods ordered on a Saturday may result in a delayed arrival. Goods ordered on a Sunday or Monday will be shipped from the store on the Tuesday immediately following - please bear this in mind if you have a deadline.

    DUE TO ONGOING ISSUES WITH BREXIT AND COURIERS UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE CURRENTLY UNABLE TO SHIP OUTSIDE OF THE UK

    48 Hour Delivery uses the Tracked 48 service from Royal Mail, which provides a Tracking Number for you to follow its journey to your destination.

    Next Day Delivery uses DHL services, a tracking number will also be supplied to allow you to follow its journey.

    Items are NOT insured as standard, please contact us if you would like to discuss additional insurance for premium products.

    All products are securely packaged in Air-Shock bottle bags or excessive amount of bubble wrap for additional protection.

    All goods must be examined at the time of delivery and any damages or shortage must be recorded on the relevant delivery acceptance forms with the delivery. Un-examined or un-checked goods that result in a subsequent claim outside of a 48 hour period will not be accepted. Queries relating to claims must be made within 48 hours of receiving the goods, otherwise claims cannot be guaranteed.

    RETURNS / EXCHANGES POLICY

    The Spirit Specialist offers EXCHANGES ONLY on unwanted items to an equal amount. Refunds will not be given, cash differences in favour of the purchaser in the case of an exchange will also not be provided.
