Opening in 2017, Hard Truth Distilling was launched by five business partners in Brown County, Indiana in an amazing 350-acre forest 'campus' that has evolved into a destination in its own right, hosting concerts and events throughout the year.
Master Distiller Bryan Smith oversees production of whiskey and other spirits - including a coconut rum which has garnered plenty of attention.
During a visit to Florida I met up with my good friend Marcia Wells, owner of the 1st Avenue Liquor store in St. Petersburg. She introduced me to Hard Truth after meeting up with Bryan at a tasting event a couple of months previously, She was really impressed with not only the liquid but also their honesty and passion for spirit production - and eventually worked with Bryan to select a single barrel pick for her customers.
Marcia has a sweet tooth, and so do I, so I loved this just as much as she did. It has a profile of rich dark brown sugar with soft baking spices underneath, similar to a dense pecan pie. It doesn't drink like a barrel proof either thanks to the unctuous mouthfeel, which makes this something dangerous to drink as it goes down VERY easily! I absolutely adore this and it's proof yet again that Marcia's barrel picks are always amazing!

Shipping rates are based on WEIGHT of goods - the total weight of your order will determine the cost of the shipping charge due to price banding imposed by Royal Mail. Orders weighing up to a max of 2kg will be charged £5.99, and orders weighing over 2kg will be charged £7.99. ANY PURCHASE OVER £150 WILL RECEIVE FREE SHIPPING.
PLEASE NOTE: The Spirit Specialist is CLOSED on Sundays and Mondays - all orders are collected by Royal Mail the day after they are packaged up. As such, if you place an order on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday, your order will be packaged up on the following Tuesday at re-opening, and then collected by Royal Mail on the Wednesday morning. PLEASE BEAR THIS IN MIND IF YOU ARE WORKING TO A DEADLINE!

All orders are sent on a Tracked service with Royal Mail, which provides a Tracking Number for you to follow its journey to your destination.

All products are securely packaged in Air-Shock bottle bags or frankly excessive amounts of bubble wrap for additional protection.
All goods must be examined at the time of delivery and any damages or shortage must be recorded on the relevant delivery acceptance forms with the delivery. Un-examined or un-checked goods that result in a subsequent claim outside of a 48 hour period will not be accepted. Queries relating to claims must be made within 48 hours of receiving the goods, otherwise claims cannot be guaranteed.
