    Inspired by and named after an 18th Century wine and spirits merchants operating in the very same building as their offices, J.G. Thomson is a new brand from The Artisanal Spirits Company, who also own the Scotch Malt Whisky Society. Launched in November 2021, the range initially features a selection of Blended Malt whiskies based on seperate flavour profiles, an aged Blended Malt, a vintage Blended Grain, a Jamaican rum and a gin.

    Here we have the Rich Blended Malt, which marries whiskies from Speyside and Highland distilleries in a solera system of American and Spanish oak casks that have previously held Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherries.

    As you might expect, there is full on dark fruit flavours on both the nose and palate, with hints of sweet (and again dark) spices with a pleasant kick of alcohol that stops the dram from being TOO sweet. The palate feels thick, and it does come across like the PX influence is further forward than the Oloroso.

    It does exactly what it says on the tin, and makes for a great sipper on a chilly evening!

    Delivery charges:

    Shipping rates are based on WEIGHT of goods - the total weight of your order will determine the cost of the shipping charge due to price banding imposed by the carriers we use.

    Please note due to our opening times goods ordered on a Saturday may result in a delayed arrival. Goods ordered on a Sunday or Monday will be shipped from the store on the Tuesday immediately following - please bear this in mind if you have a deadline.

    48 Hour Delivery uses the Tracked 48 service from Royal Mail, which provides a Tracking Number for you to follow its journey to your destination.

    Next Day Delivery uses DHL services, a tracking number will also be supplied to allow you to follow its journey.

    Items are NOT insured as standard, please contact us if you would like to discuss additional insurance for premium products.

    All products are securely packaged in Air-Shock bottle bags or excessive amount of bubble wrap for additional protection.

    All goods must be examined at the time of delivery and any damages or shortage must be recorded on the relevant delivery acceptance forms with the delivery. Un-examined or un-checked goods that result in a subsequent claim outside of a 48 hour period will not be accepted. Queries relating to claims must be made within 48 hours of receiving the goods, otherwise claims cannot be guaranteed.

    RETURNS / EXCHANGES POLICY

    The Spirit Specialist offers EXCHANGES ONLY on unwanted items to an equal amount. Refunds will not be given, cash differences in favour of the purchaser in the case of an exchange will also not be provided.
