Koskenkorva Vodka 40% 70cl
I love the fact on the bottle it's boldy claims this vodka comes from 'A Village'. The village is the eponymous Koskenkorva, a tiny place of only 2,100 inhabitants in the West of the country.
The vodka is made from the most northerly grown barley in the world - using barley as the base for the spirit offers a warmer, rounder flavour profile too. As a result, this spirit has a lovely creamy texture, with just a hint of apple and Cheerios. Towards the finish though there is a drying note, which is needed as otherwise it may have become a little flabby.
It's a lovely sipping vodka, but thanks to that note of drying pepper on the finish this will also work well in cocktails. And it's damn good value for money too!
