Dynasty Spirits is the 3rd largest spirits producer in Texas, and company president Devin Odell set up Lasso Motel in 2024 as a whiskey brand sourcing spirit from the likes of MGP in Indiana and 1792 in Kentucky with a distinctly different marketing angle, using visuals that conjure up Americana in the 40s and 50s combined with a more modern edge.
Having an unusual label doesn't mean shit if the liquid is no good, but my word Lasso Motel are making waves in the market despite their youth. Instead of releasing a small core range, the brand went big with a whopping 13 different bottling in the portfolio, all the way up to an 18 year old which is blowing minds everywhere.
Now I'll admit, just the name of this release made me want to buy it - I'm not a massive fan of darts but it is BIG right now. And the description of finishing in Armagnac, Sherry AND Cognac casks sounded mighty interesting. The term 'Cigarette Blend' is a bit weird, as is the Marlboro-esque back label, especially given the current climate on smoking, but outside of that it ticks a lot of boxes for yours truly.
I was lucky enough to sample it while visiting my good friend Marcia Wells at the 1st Avenue Liquor Store in St. Petersburg, Florida - Lasso Motel has recently held a tasting event a few weeks prior and her customers could not rave about them enough. And hoo boy this is damn good. There's sweetness coming from the Armagnac and Cognac casks as you might expect, but there's a nice bite from the ABV and a hint of dried chilli flakes and black pepper to stop things for getting too unctuous. A wave of milk chocolate and nut brittle can also be found, making this incredibly approachable but also wonderfully complex. So the question is, do you go for a double or triple? Regardless, Lasso Motel have hit the bullseye (sorry not sorry)

Shipping rates are based on WEIGHT of goods - the total weight of your order will determine the cost of the shipping charge due to price banding imposed by Royal Mail. Orders weighing up to a max of 2kg will be charged £5.99, and orders weighing over 2kg will be charged £7.99. ANY PURCHASE OVER £150 WILL RECEIVE FREE SHIPPING.
PLEASE NOTE: The Spirit Specialist is CLOSED on Sundays and Mondays - all orders are collected by Royal Mail the day after they are packaged up. As such, if you place an order on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday, your order will be packaged up on the following Tuesday at re-opening, and then collected by Royal Mail on the Wednesday morning. PLEASE BEAR THIS IN MIND IF YOU ARE WORKING TO A DEADLINE!

All products are securely packaged in Air-Shock bottle bags or frankly excessive amounts of bubble wrap for additional protection.
All goods must be examined at the time of delivery and any damages or shortage must be recorded on the relevant delivery acceptance forms with the delivery. Un-examined or un-checked goods that result in a subsequent claim outside of a 48 hour period will not be accepted. Queries relating to claims must be made within 48 hours of receiving the goods, otherwise claims cannot be guaranteed.
