    The Nc'nean Distillery was founded by Annabel Thomas in March 2017 - she was previously a consultant in London but a distillery road trip around Scotland persuaded her to up sticks and create a distillery with a difference – it's the first fully organic distillery powered by 100% renewable energy. The wood chips for the biomass boiler are sourced from a local forest, while all by-products are recycled as animal and plant feed on Drimin Estate where the distillery is located. The glass for the bottles is also 100% recycled.

    The name Nc'nean (pronounced Nic-knee-anne) comes from Neachneohain, the Queen of Spirits in Gaelic legend. Neachneohain was a huntress: strong, independent and never afraid to walk her own path - she was also a fierce protector of nature.

    Neachneohain was a quiet rebel, and in honour of her Nc'Nean have released the first of a set of seasonal releases - the first being a marriage of casks chosen by Annabel herself. She selected a combination of ex-Bourbon and ex-Tokaji wine casks - a Hungarian dessert wine which brings a fruity sweetness to the spirit without being to overpowering or cloying. The sweeter notes pair excellently with the vanilla character of the Bourbon barrels, and there's a nice bite of oak to keep things lively! It's a great whisky to sip neat, but don't be afraid to experiment wih cocktails either, as this will definitely work in the likes of a Whisky & Soda or even an alternative Clover Club!

    Delivery charges:

    Shipping rates are based on WEIGHT of goods - the total weight of your order will determine the cost of the shipping charge due to price banding imposed by the carriers we use.

    Please note due to our opening times goods ordered on a Saturday may result in a delayed arrival. Goods ordered on a Sunday or Monday will be shipped from the store on the Tuesday immediately following - please bear this in mind if you have a deadline.

    48 Hour Delivery uses the Tracked 48 service from Royal Mail, which provides a Tracking Number for you to follow its journey to your destination.

    Next Day Delivery uses DHL services, a tracking number will also be supplied to allow you to follow its journey.

    Items are NOT insured as standard, please contact us if you would like to discuss additional insurance for premium products.

    All products are securely packaged in Air-Shock bottle bags or excessive amount of bubble wrap for additional protection.

    All goods must be examined at the time of delivery and any damages or shortage must be recorded on the relevant delivery acceptance forms with the delivery. Un-examined or un-checked goods that result in a subsequent claim outside of a 48 hour period will not be accepted. Queries relating to claims must be made within 48 hours of receiving the goods, otherwise claims cannot be guaranteed.

    RETURNS / EXCHANGES POLICY

    The Spirit Specialist offers EXCHANGES ONLY on unwanted items to an equal amount. Refunds will not be given, cash differences in favour of the purchaser in the case of an exchange will also not be provided.
