The second release from Paul John's Zodiac collection - the first being the brilliant Kanya a couple of years ago - Mithuna is the Indian counterpart of Gemini.
Initially matured in Virgin American oak casks, the spirit was then finished in ex-Bourbon barrels. As with all Paul John releases, there's no age statement, as due to the higher temperatures in Goa more liquid is lost through evaporation than cooler climates such as Scotland, but there is increased interaction between wood and whisky, so theoretically it matures at a 'faster' rate.
The virgin oak element imparts a lovely vanilla character on top of the house style of honey and golden syrup - the 'Goan sunshine' they regularly reference - that is prevalent through nearly every Paul John bottling. But there are also deeper notes of coffee and soft baking spice. A drop of water does help - only a drop mind you - releasing more of those richer tones to reveal orange oil and manuka honey.
It's yet another brilliant premium release from Paul John, and I very much look forward to getting my hands on the other 10 releases when they eventually arrive!

DUE TO ONGOING ISSUES WITH BREXIT AND COURIERS UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE CURRENTLY UNABLE TO SHIP OUTSIDE OF THE UK48 Hour Delivery uses the Tracked 48 service from Royal Mail, which provides a Tracking Number for you to follow its journey to your destination.
Next Day Delivery uses DHL services, a tracking number will also be supplied to allow you to follow its journey.

All products are securely packaged in Air-Shock bottle bags or excessive amount of bubble wrap for additional protection.
All goods must be examined at the time of delivery and any damages or shortage must be recorded on the relevant delivery acceptance forms with the delivery. Un-examined or un-checked goods that result in a subsequent claim outside of a 48 hour period will not be accepted. Queries relating to claims must be made within 48 hours of receiving the goods, otherwise claims cannot be guaranteed.
RETURNS / EXCHANGES POLICY
The Spirit Specialist offers EXCHANGES ONLY on unwanted items to an equal amount. Refunds will not be given, cash differences in favour of the purchaser in the case of an exchange will also not be provided.Your statutory rights are not affected.
