Founded in 2018 by business partners Mike Paladini and Danny Polise, Penelope Bourbon is named after Mike's daughter who was due to arrive that year. As with many American whiskey brands, Penelope source their whiskies from MGP in Indiana, but the focus was on more unusual barrel maturation and more quirky flavour profiles. The brand grew so much in popularity due to the quality of the liquid that MGP ended up acquiring Penelope for $105 million, with a potential additional $110 million on offer if certain performance conditions are met by the end of 2025. Not bad going!
A new addition to Penelope's Limited Releases expressions was crafted in collaboration with renowned cigar blenders Cynn Coburn of Dissident Cigars and Lee Marsh of Stolen Throne Cigars. The blending team worked closely with Coburn and Marsh, drawing on their deep knowledge of cigars to craft a whiskey blend meticulously designed to complement a medium-bodied cigar experience. Straight Bourbon, Single Malt and Light Whiskey that were aged for ana average of 6 years were blended together to produce a somewhat sweet flavour profile that is round and warming. I'm not a cigar smoker myself, but I can imagine this will pair beautifully as there's a hint of spice and tobacco leaf amongst butterscotch and soft cinnamon. For non-smokers it's an excellent dessert whiskey - if you like them sweet, you'll love this!

Shipping rates are based on WEIGHT of goods - the total weight of your order will determine the cost of the shipping charge due to price banding imposed by Royal Mail. Orders weighing up to a max of 2kg will be charged £5.99, and orders weighing over 2kg will be charged £7.99. ANY PURCHASE OVER £150 WILL RECEIVE FREE SHIPPING.
PLEASE NOTE: The Spirit Specialist is CLOSED on Sundays and Mondays - all orders are collected by Royal Mail the day after they are packaged up. As such, if you place an order on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday, your order will be packaged up on the following Tuesday at re-opening, and then collected by Royal Mail on the Wednesday morning. PLEASE BEAR THIS IN MIND IF YOU ARE WORKING TO A DEADLINE!

All orders are sent on a Tracked service with Royal Mail, which provides a Tracking Number for you to follow its journey to your destination.

All products are securely packaged in Air-Shock bottle bags or frankly excessive amounts of bubble wrap for additional protection.
All goods must be examined at the time of delivery and any damages or shortage must be recorded on the relevant delivery acceptance forms with the delivery. Un-examined or un-checked goods that result in a subsequent claim outside of a 48 hour period will not be accepted. Queries relating to claims must be made within 48 hours of receiving the goods, otherwise claims cannot be guaranteed.
