    An absolute stalwart of the Seagram's Company, who at one point were a major competitor for the likes of Diageo in the drinks industry before pretty imploding and eventually beomcing defunct in 2000.

    The VO was the flagship of the company whisky portfolio. Legend has it that VO stood for 'Very Own', as Thomas Seagram had the head distiller of the Waterloo DIstillery blend a special spirit for his marriage to Dorothy Pearson in 1931. Upon tasting it, Thomas' father Joseph declared it should be put on the market, after which it became one of the biggest sellers for the business, and was often compared with Crown Royal and Canadian Club.

    However, the blend uses whiskies with a minimum age of 6 years, so some people argue the VO actually means 'Very Old' - now you might not think that six years is THAT old, but in terms of Canadian whiskies that is pretty decrepit!

    As you might think for such a popular brand, this is an incredible easy drinking dram. There's a light fruit character and a touch of nut brittle, with a soft finish that to be honest does die away quite quickly. But this will satisfy nearly every palate and it also works really well in cocktails, so it ends up being a really versatile bottle.

    Please note due to our opening times goods ordered on a Saturday may result in a delayed arrival. Goods ordered on a Sunday or Monday will be shipped from the store on the Tuesday immediately following - please bear this in mind if you have a deadline.

    48 Hour Delivery uses the Tracked 48 service from Royal Mail, which provides a Tracking Number for you to follow its journey to your destination.

    Next Day Delivery uses DHL services, a tracking number will also be supplied to allow you to follow its journey.

    All products are securely packaged in Air-Shock bottle bags or excessive amount of bubble wrap for additional protection.

    All goods must be examined at the time of delivery and any damages or shortage must be recorded on the relevant delivery acceptance forms with the delivery. Un-examined or un-checked goods that result in a subsequent claim outside of a 48 hour period will not be accepted. Queries relating to claims must be made within 48 hours of receiving the goods, otherwise claims cannot be guaranteed.

    RETURNS / EXCHANGES POLICY

    The Spirit Specialist offers EXCHANGES ONLY on unwanted items to an equal amount. Refunds will not be given, cash differences in favour of the purchaser in the case of an exchange will also not be provided.
