Stork Club have been producing rum and whisky 60km south of Berlin since 2004, but only recently have bottlings been available outside of Germany.

This is an intriguing marriage of Stork Club's fantastic 100% rye whisky alongside Pinot Noir wine from Baden, created to offer what they claim is the world first 'whisky aperitif'

Whilst you could serve in a highball with soda or tonic water, I think this is absolutely stunning just served chilled in a glass - no ice, mind you - and served with a light meal. The whisky element is subdued but adds an extra dimension on the finish, whereas the soft berry fruit of the wine is upfront and incredibly easy to enjoy.
