'The Story Of' is a brand of American whiskies created by Nathan Dawes, founder of N10 Bourbons, an importer of American whiskies into the UK and someone who I've had the pleasure of dealing with since opening The Spirit Specialist in 2020.
A true 'Small Batch' release, Nathan samples individual casks to then create a blend that aims for a 'high-rye' flavour profile - something with a little spiciness to cut through the likes of an Old Fashioned but with enough soft sweetness to drink on its own. A marriage of 6 casks with a mashbill of 75% corn, 15% rye and 10% malted barley, this has plenty of that vanilla caramel sweetness you'd want from a classic Bourbon whiskey but with a nice bite of dried chili flakes and toasted sourdough on the finish to ensure nothing gets too flabby or weak - there's even a hint of bread pudding at the end. At 5 years and 6 months old it's got a decent bit of aging too, resulting in a deliciously rich mouthfeel which lengthens that excellent finish.
For the price point and given the state of the US whiskey market in the UK right now this is an absolute bloody bargain. If you love American whiskey or are dipping your toe in the water, this is a must-buy! Shipping rates are based on WEIGHT of goods - the total weight of your order will determine the cost of the shipping charge due to price banding imposed by Royal Mail. Orders weighing up to a max of 2kg will be charged £5.99, and orders weighing over 2kg will be charged £7.99. ANY PURCHASE OVER £150 WILL RECEIVE FREE SHIPPING.
PLEASE NOTE: The Spirit Specialist is CLOSED on Sundays and Mondays - all orders are collected by Royal Mail the day after they are packaged up. As such, if you place an order on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday, your order will be packaged up on the following Tuesday at re-opening, and then collected by Royal Mail on the Wednesday morning. PLEASE BEAR THIS IN MIND IF YOU ARE WORKING TO A DEADLINE!

All orders are sent on a Tracked service with Royal Mail, which provides a Tracking Number for you to follow its journey to your destination.

All products are securely packaged in Air-Shock bottle bags or frankly excessive amounts of bubble wrap for additional protection.
All goods must be examined at the time of delivery and any damages or shortage must be recorded on the relevant delivery acceptance forms with the delivery. Un-examined or un-checked goods that result in a subsequent claim outside of a 48 hour period will not be accepted. Queries relating to claims must be made within 48 hours of receiving the goods, otherwise claims cannot be guaranteed.
